Yohai Cohen (oud, vocal, percussion) and Shai Shriki (guitar, vocals) play roots music of Morocco and Algeria. Songs in Hebrew, Arabic.
Yochai is a Tzfat native and a top student of Zohar Fresco who has achieved international success and recognition as a sought-after percussionist in the Mediterranean ethnic/world music scene, appearing with Yemen Blues, Amir Perelman and others. Living in Australia the last 2 years he has focused on the oud and vocals and the roots music of his own family background in Morocco and grass-roots music of Algeria. Shai Shriki is a well-known performer of Moroccan and Andalusian music.
Yohai is back in Israel before heading off for further musical explorations in Morocco and honors us with a home-town performance of featuring his new emphasis on the oud and singing traditional and popular songs of the Maghreb (North Africa). Yohai and Shai developed their duo and performed together at festivals and major venues in Australia where they have both been living recently.
