The Movie -
In recent years, innovative and remarkably effective treatments for PTSD (post-traumatic stress) have been developed using the psychoactive substance MDMA together with psycho-therapy. MDMA, the active ingredient in the street drug Ecstasy, has been identified by leading psychiatrists and researchers in the United States as a “penicillin of the soul” and used to treat trauma victims from the Iraq wars and Afghanistan.
The film follows the story of post-trauma patients treated with MDMA at Be’er Ya’akov Hospital for several years. In the film, we return together with post-trauma patients to the place of trauma, to life before, and to the long and complex path to recovery that is documented in its entirety. The patients have the desire to live and be free from the trauma and found success in their journey after years of struggle with largely ineffective conventional treatment.
